Nicotine Pouch Reorder Routine: Keep Fast Sellers In, Clear Dead Stock
Overstocking and stock-outs are the two biggest profit leaks on a pouch display. A short routine controls both.
Step 1: Count your anchors weekly
Anchors are the products customers ask for by name, usually mainstream mint in a couple of strengths. A gap there costs you the customer, not just the can. Every week, count them and note anything below one roll.
Step 2: Set a reorder point
For each anchor SKU, write down a number. When stock reaches it, order. A practical start:
- Anchors: reorder at one roll remaining
- Secondary flavors: reorder at two or three cans
- Specialty items: reorder only when empty
Because our minimum order is 2 cartons with mixed brands allowed, you can combine several reorders in one order. See the starter order guide.
Step 3: Review sell-through every four to six weeks
Sort your SKUs from fastest to slowest. Look for:
- Top five: give them more facings and a buffer.
- Middle: leave alone.
- Bottom five: candidates to cut.
Review by strength band too. If your light shelf is empty but ultra-strong is full, the mix is wrong. Our strength guide defines the bands.
Step 4: Deal with slow sellers early
Do not wait six months. For any SKU with no sales over a full review period:
- Cut it to one facing.
- Move it to the end of the section or a more visible spot.
- Do not reorder.
- Remove it if it still does not move, and replace it with a flavor from a family that is selling.
Check product dates on stock you hold, and rotate older cans to the front.
Step 5: Replace with intent
When a slot opens, choose a replacement based on what is working. If fruit is selling, try another fruit from a different family. See best-selling flavors to stock. Limit new tests to one or two SKUs at a time, so you can see what each did.
What to avoid
- Ordering every flavor in a brand because it is available
- Giving equal facings to fast and slow products
- Letting anchor SKUs run out while specialty items sit
- Skipping age verification when the counter is busy
Keep the routine short and consistent. For layout, read how to stock a display, or request a quote for your next order.
Questions from store owners
How often should I review my pouch range?
A quick weekly count of top sellers and a fuller review every four to six weeks is enough for most stores.
What is a good reorder point?
Reorder when an anchor SKU falls to about one roll. Adjust based on how fast it moves.
How do I handle slow sellers?
Reduce to one facing, move to the end of the section, and do not reorder until it sells through.
